2009 Flood Disaster Recovery Information
The Cobb County sirens are activated under the following conditions:
• The National Weather Service issues a tornado warning.
• The National Weather Service issues a severe thunderstorm warning with a tornado watch.
• A tornado has been spotted or reported by public safety officials.
• Additional weather warnings are issued.
• National Security events.
• Hazardous material incidents where evacuation or other action may be warranted.
The sirens are tested at noon on the first Wednesday of every month weather permitting. If inclement weather exists, then the testing will be conducted on Thursday.
