The Cobb County Department of Transportation recently started making room for their new building. The 25,000-square-foot facility addition will house the operations responsible for managing the county`s Advanced Transportation Management System. The TMC was designed according to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards and is registered with the US Green Building Council. The facility is expected to be fully operational in 2010.
In the fall of 2008, the Cobb County Department of Public Safety set a goal to reduce the amount of false alarms through its new False Alarm Reduction Program. The program went into effect December 31, 2008 and in just six months the program is making a significant impact.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition which has no known cause or cure. One little Cobb County girl recently donated her hair and our cameras were there to catch it.
